I didn't come from tech. I came from events — running Above and Beyond Productions, on the ground at weddings, parties and functions, watching exactly where the industry leaked time and money.

The tools never fit. Bookings in one place, payments in another, enquiries lost somewhere in an inbox. So I decided to build the thing I wished existed — and taught myself how to do it. Evenings and weekends, one broken deploy at a time, until it worked.

That became Venunique: a full event marketplace with listings, bookings, Stripe payments, ticketing, a CRM and automated email — every line of it mine. No team, no agency, no computer-science degree. Just a stubborn refusal to accept “that's not possible on your budget.”

Building it taught me what actually moves the needle for a small business — not a prettier homepage, but systems that capture leads, follow up on their own, and take payment while you sleep.

Above Designs is me doing that for other people. I'll always tell you straight: if a simple site is all you need, I'll say so. If you need something that genuinely runs the business, I've already proven — the hard way — that I can build it.
